How this site makes money

Ice Caves Tours earns commission from affiliate links. When you follow a link from this site to a booking platform and book a tour, the platform pays this site a percentage of its own commission. This site participates in the affiliate programmes of Viator and GetYourGuide.

It costs you nothing. The price you pay is the same whether you reach the tour through this site or go to the platform directly. Commission comes out of the platform's margin, not your booking.

Where the links are

Every outbound booking link on this site is an affiliate link, and every one carries rel="noopener sponsored" so that search engines and browsers can identify it as such. Book Now buttons, tour names and price links all go to a booking platform.

Internal links between pages of this site are not affiliate links and carry no tracking. Links to official Icelandic services such as road and weather information are plain reference links with no commercial relationship whatsoever.

How this affects what is published

This is the part that matters, so it is worth being specific.

  • Tours are not ranked by commission. Ordering reflects rating, review volume, price and how well a tour fits the page.
  • Criticism is published. Where reviewers report small caves, oversized groups, closures or refund problems, that appears in the tour description and on the reviews page.
  • Tours without a cave are labelled as such. Several tours on this site do not enter an ice cave at all, and every one says so plainly.
  • Prices are taken from the live listing, not from a supplied feed. Where an operator's live price differed from other sources, the live figure was used.

Ratings and reviews

Star ratings and review counts shown on this site are the operators' own figures, taken from their booking listings on the date shown in each page's byline. They are not collected or verified by this site, and they are deliberately not published as structured review data, because they describe the operator's reputation and not ours.

Written reviews are paraphrased from real reviews left on those listings. None is invented, and none is written to reach a target number.

Ice cave availability changes faster than anything else on this site, because it depends on the weather.
